Summary of the most important new features in G Suite:
  • The new Gmail Web interface is enabled for all users. It incorporates advanced phishing protection, confidential mode, manual and automatic reminders, side panel with Calendar, Tasks, Keep and more. 

 

The new confidential mode in Gmail allows you to set expiration dates for confidential information.

Security warnings within Gmail have also been redesigned to be easier to understand and give a clearer call to action for employees. These bigger, bolder warnings will help you be even more informed when it comes to potentially dangerous emails.

New artificial intelligence features in Gmail, such as Nudging, Smart Reply and high-priority notifications, can now help you spend more time on the work that matters.

Most of us get more emails than we can deal with at the same time, and sometimes things get resolved. With Nudging, Gmail will proactively remind you to follow up or reply to messages, making sure you don't drop the ball.

As part of the redesign, we're also tightly integrating Gmail with other G Suite applications you use every day. You can now quickly reference, create or edit calendar invitations, capture ideas in Keep, or manage to-dos in Tasks, all from a side panel in your inbox.

The side panel also provides easy access to Gmail plug-ins, such as third-party business applications that you can use. This way, you don't have to switch between tabs or applications to get your work done. You will begin to see the new side panel integration in other G Suite applications in the coming months, such as inside your Calendar, Documents, Spreadsheets and Presentations applications.

  • Google Documents incorporates grammatical correction of the text.
  • Google Spreadsheets incorporates connection with BigQuery, the advanced and super-fast analysis base, and with the SAP system. Also simplified formula writing, record grouping and new charts.
  • Hangout Chat incorporates smart replies, business hours, Google Drive bot and Calendar,
  • Google Drive incorporates real-time collaboration for Microsoft Office documents, customized metadata information, approval processes, contextual side panel, prioritized information page, PIN access restriction.

These new features are available now and in the coming months.
