Working from home, we remain connected. Therefore, it is important to keep in mind:

  • Designate a place of work.

It is important to designate both the place where you work and the places where you do not work. This will ensure that you have places to rest. Also, when it comes to video conferencing, choose suitable environments, smooth walls and stable places to rest the laptop.

  • Routines.

Help your brain get in the "frame of mind" to be productive. Follow your usual routines, such as getting up, getting dressed, eating breakfast, and then "commuting" to your new workspace. This can be a time to experiment with alternative schedules that make you more productive.

  • Daily to-do list.

You can create an hour-by-hour plan of what you will do the next day, so that you have to stick to it. In this way, you can also list the 3 most important activities to do.

  • Use Meets like a pro.

    Video Quality
You can reduce the quality of your video when you experience bandwidth constraints or delays. Also, make a video call but get audio through your phone.

    Submit
Use both modes: present all tabs, or present only one tab. This way, you only present what you think is necessary.

    Record conferences
When you have meetings where you don't want to miss any details, you can use this feature.

    Screen layout
You can change the layout in which videos and presentations are displayed, to focus your attention on what interests you.

    Video call quality
You can use it to view a timeline of when users joined a call and what events took place during the meeting. This timeline will help you visually understand how the call developed over time.

    Subtitles for English conversations
Meet can display live subtitles. English language only, so if you prefer to read, you can do so.

  • Be real.

Showing "real" life to your colleagues can foster the work culture and your relationships. We are all going through the same situation.

Until September 30, 2020 Google Meet will be offered as a standalone product for free. So even if you do not have the Google Suite, with an enterprise domain, you can make professional video conferences.

In addition, new features such as moderation, polls, and translations will be added soon.
