team-drive

With the aim of improving security and facilitating the use of Google Drive within companies, the company today announced the implementation of new resources for G Suite customers.

Presents Team Drivesto create and share work confidentially within a team; Google Vaultto keep sensitive data stored in Drive under control; AppBridgefor migrating to Drive from older platforms; Drive File Streamto improve the current use of files stored in Drive; and Quick Accessfor immediate access to the most relevant files thanks to Google's artificial intelligence system.

Each of the new functions is described in detail below,

- Team DrivesTeam Drives: Options that allow administrators to have more control over file access, offering resources that help to know the status of everything that has been shared. The idea is to be able to create workgroups that have access to sets of files, making it easy to add and remove new members at any time. This feature will be available to all G Suite Business, Education and Enterprise customers.

- Google VaultFocused on data protection. The new features of Google Vault for Drive provide administrators with the right controls to manage and protect all files, both on employee drives and Team Drives. We will be able, for example, to set retention policies to suspend files that are critical for a certain legal case, for example.

- AppBridgeAppBridge: a tool they have purchased to enable cloud-based and hybrid migrations within the Google Drive platform.

- Drive File StreamDrive File Stream: a resource that will allow us to have files always at hand using less disk space. It is available in the Early Adopter Program (EAP), and allows teams to quickly stream files directly from the cloud to the computer, without the need to synchronize everything before. the goal is to avoid the traditional Google Drive client, since with this new feature we can immediately download any file from our Drive thanks to an advanced caching system. This feature also avoids the risk of users downloading all the company's data on their hard drives.

- Quick AccessGoogle's artificial intelligence system already knows which files are the most used by each member of the company, and for this it already has a lot of cached information available so that the loading of content is immediate and personalized for each one.

Individual customers will not have access to these functions, only companies and institutions that have contracted the Google platform.
