Many people believe that if their own or their company's data is in the cloud, they have more security risks. Companies that have their own computer centers and servers in house believe that their data is more secure, but this is not the case, since their protection, in many cases, does not usually go much further than an antivirus. And, on the other hand, they do not have the scale to devote resources to research and IT security specialists who constantly monitor data security.
On the contrary, large companies that offer their services in the Cloud (Amazon, Google, Microsoft, to name the most representative cases) have specially dedicated resources and specialists who work continuously to reduce these risks and provide greater security.
What to choose and how to customize it
As we said at the beginning, the most advisable thing to do when choosing a Cloud server is to opt for one of the big ones: among them the most reliable are Amazon, Google and Microsoft.
The services offered by those companies are similar. The way to take advantage of them in a more efficient and personalized way is to automate them, which implies defining some operating issues that must be known. For example, it is possible to define that new equipment can be added, turned on or off according to the demand they have.
Also, the aforementioned companies allow the contracting of database, storage and high performance analysis services. Always with a flexibility that both large and small companies can take advantage of.
In addition, depending on the type of service contracted, the company is responsible, to varying degrees, for maintenance and updating tasks.
In short, today the Cloud is more secure and adapts to changes more easily. When contracting one of these services, it is best to turn to one of the leading providers, always counting on the advice of specialists, in order to take advantage of all the potentialities and achieve a personalized service.
