When using Google Meet on a daily basis, we noticed that it is the platform that generates the least inconveniences. There are no audio problems and it has excellent video quality. In addition, it integrates with a suite of applications that facilitate organization and collaborative work.

Now even more: backgrounds for videoconferencing.

The current context requires that many times we have to make videoconferences in places in our home that we would not want to show. Or simply, we would feel more comfortable from an office. Some applications have incorporated the possibility of adding a fictitious background or blur in our video. Soon, this functionality will be available in Google Meet.

Whether working from home, in the field, in the plant or in the office, Meet is designed to help everyone get connected.

Google accelerated the development of new features for the growing number of individuals, teams and organizations that rely on Meet to stay connected. Currently, higher versions allow for 250 simultaneous attendees and live streaming for up to 100,000 viewers.

Other updates:

  • Present video and audio from a Chrome tab
  • Low light mode: Google Meet uses AI to automatically adjust your video to make it more visible in suboptimal lighting conditions.
  • Noise cancellation: Meet can now intelligently filter out background distractions.
  • Design enhancements: allows you to see up to 16 participants, along with the content being shared, all at the same time. (They plan to scale up to 49 participants)

Coming soon

- Raise hands to increase participation at large meetings or events by allowing participants to "raise their hand" when they have a question or something to say.
- Have Meeting Attendance for future host discussions.
- Small group rooms will be able to break large meetings into smaller groups, so they can have side-by-side discussions and reconvene after the meeting is over.
- Question and answer channel so as not to interrupt the flow of conversation.
- Real-time polling
- Additional moderator controls: mute, introduce, join and more.

Once again, Meet stands out among the tools on the market. It will have the same features, better quality and a robust company behind it that continuously implements improvements.
